
Jimmie Jean (JJ) Gentry is a seasoned emergency department nurse with five years of emergency
department experience. Known for her ability to manage critical situations and coordinate department
flow, JJ has served in leadership roles such as Charge Nurse, Flow Coordinator, and RN Preceptor.
She is dedicated to fostering teamwork and improving patient outcomes through evidence-based
practices.
In May 2024, JJ was promoted to Assistant Nurse Manager, where she oversees quality improvement
initiatives, including projects focused on electronic handoff report and reduction of blood culture
contamination rates. Her leadership extends to mentoring staff and driving operational excellence
within the emergency department.
JJ earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. Her clinical
expertise spans Level I–IV trauma care, stroke, cardiovascular, transplant, and oncology patients. She
has contributed to multiple hospital committees, such as Code Blue and Workplace Violence,
reflecting her commitment to patient and staff advocacy.
JJ leverages her clinical expertise and leadership skills to drive innovation in emergency care,
streamline operations, and elevate the experience for both patients and healthcare teams.
